A Whimsy Timeline 

Golden Hay is looming like a great concrete scarecrow,  except this one scares off the wildlife instead of protecting it.

Work commenced today at the Golden Hay field site with excavation machinery arriving on location. 

Street Names

A list of rather boring and unrelated generic street names were sent to nearby residents about which ones they prefer. Here are some witty answers for  street names were made "Goa Way"; Here are some more names to consider:

  • Token Green Space Grove

  • Biodiversity‑Box‑Tick Boulevard

  • Consultation‑In‑Name‑Only Close

  • Wildlife Relocation Road

  • Future Traffic Jam Junction

Now that sounds  like a plan!

Out on the edge of our truly rural horizon, the Golden Hay development is tip‑toeing in like an uninvited guest at a wildlife garden party — and the bats, birds, and badgers have all agreed it’s absolutely not on the guest list!

Dumbleton Conservation Society

Their purpose:

In a conservation area designation, is not to prevent any future change, rather to ensure that whatever change does occur is carefully managed. The definition of a conservation area is “an area of special architectural or historic interest the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.”

On this page The Dumbleton Conservation Society  are tracking the development of the Golden Hay Field through photographs and timelines and will share any important notices or documents.

“When We Hear More, You’ll Hear More… As Reported by the Deer, the Hedgehogs, and the Night‑Shift Bats”

The Golden Hay development has begun creeping over the hill, and the local wildlife have filed a formal complaint: ‘Habitat encroachment, again? We were literally here first.’ The bats objected on nocturnal grounds, the hedgehogs pricked up in protest, and the deer simply stared in dignified disbelief.
